We are looking for a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our amazing retail Culinary team, at a leading global investment bank in Central London. Our Retail Kitchen looks after our Breakfast and Lunch offering at a busy and fast-paced investment bank. We see an average of 3000 transactions a day in our restaurant across our Breakfast and Lunch service, from freshly prepared omelettes, to a daily special that takes inspiration from our Chef's cuisines and heritages. We have full autonomy across our 7 counters in the restaurant, so is a real opportunity to bring your own flare and touch to our dishes.

Job Description

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in day-to-day kitchen operations, menu delivery, and team supervision. You’ll help ensure the smooth running of service across our Restaurant, while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and compliance. 

To ensure food production, standards, costs and menu planning are carried out in a timely fashion, as agreed with the Head Chef
To assist the Head Chef with compiling food orders and developing new food concept and menu ideas for the restaurant, with full autonomy on menu writing and development 
To assist with the smooth and efficient running of our Retail Kitchen, overseeing 7 sections from a full salad bar, to our special Chef counter. 
To be involved with motivating and mentoring a brigade of around 15 chefs, from Sous Chef to Kitchen Porter.
To work collaboratively with our Group Culinary Lead, to drive food innovation and concept development, marketing and implementation, across our Retail food offering, but alongside our Hospitality kitchen too.
To plan, prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by the company and the client, by taking inspiration 
To assist with responsibility of Food, Health and Safety in the kitchen, ensuring best practices, all due diligence is completed as necessary and any other relevant documentation 

Qualifications

Experience in a previous role, ideally either a Senior Sous chef, or Head Chef in a contract catering environment
Comfortable with delivering 3000+ covers a day across Breakfast and Lunch 
Have a good understanding of Food, Health & Safety, including allergens and nutritional information 
Organised, calm under pressure and eager to grow professionally
Good communication verbally and written
Passion for food, and innovative with new ideas
Good team management
