Sourcing Manager - Red Meat
Shire Park, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
This role is in the Meat, Fish and Poultry category, which is at the heart of Fresh Foods, and one of the most important areas for customers, a key determinant of where customers choose to shop.
Meat and protein is a key growth category for customers as customers increasingly want to consume natural protein, due to the growing importance in Health.
This role sources, buys & sells great quality products and ingredients, to ensure we offer our customers the best prices, range and quality available.
You will be responsible for:
Building a customer focused, long term category strategy that delivers sustainable growth for the business & drives market out-performance.
Finding, developing and managing suppliers, to deliver our customer propositions and our joint business targets whilst ensuring that product quality is achieved & maintained.
Working with suppliers to build a strong Buy/Move plan that ensures our ingredients and products are purchased, moved & sold in the most efficient way possible.
Forecasting and managing budgets effectively
Always being cost conscious.
Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
You will need:
Commercial buying experience from complex supply chains.
Negotiation experience from managing cost models and mitigating cost increases.
Range and trade planning.
Report preparation and analysis.
Operational skills relevant for this job:
Negotiation.
Supplier economics.
Influencing & stakeholder management.
Supplier & grower relationship management.
Data analysis.
