Senior Legal Transformation Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

As a Senior Legal Transformation Manager, you will play a key role in shaping Tesco’s Group Legal transformation strategy. Partnering with the Legal Operations Director, you will embed the operating model, establish success metrics and reporting frameworks, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll deliver transformation projects, both process and technology-related, while supporting system implementations and driving adoption. In addition, you’ll manage legal vendor governance in collaboration with procurement and technology teams, ensuring efficiency and value across the function.
You will be responsible for:
Programme managing transformation initiatives, including collaborating with Legal Managers to redesign processes, transitioning work to centralised teams in India, and partnering with the Technology Transformation Manager to define requirements for technology solutions.
Overseeing legal vendor management in partnership with procurement and technology teams, ensuring full lifecycle visibility, commercial alignment, and compliance with internal standards such as SSO, security, and AI governance.
Designing and implementing a reporting framework that includes success metrics, stakeholder surveys, and collaboration with data analysts to enhance reporting capabilities and insights.
Leading continuous improvement across Group Legal by identifying inefficiencies, standardising best practices, and embedding a culture of innovation and accountability.
Supporting the embedding of the new legal operating model across the function.
You will need:
Experience leading legal transformation or change programmes and managing cross-functional projects involving legal, technology, and procurement teams.
Strong skills in process analysis, redesign, and workflow optimisation to drive efficiency and standardisation.
Ability to oversee legal tech tools, vendor relationships, and operational improvements within an in-house legal function.
Experience managing external legal vendors and ensuring compliance with governance and commercial standards.
Proficiency in developing reporting frameworks, defining success metrics, conducting data analysis, and leveraging insights for decision-making, business cases, and performance tracking.
Experience in survey design, feedback analysis, and embedding continuous improvement practices.
Proven ability to support and embed new legal operating models effectively.
