Here at Peacocks we have a fantastic opportunity for a Product Technologist to join our QC department at our Head Office in Cardiff.

As a Product Technologist, you will be at the centre of the development and production of our products, you will you will be responsible for all quality aspects from size specifications, through to sampling, fabric testing and production assessments to ensure safe, fit for purpose products which maximises sales and profits.

Main Responsibilities:

Take ownership of sample management and the fit process from initial development through to production, ensuring quality remains at the forefront at every stage.
Evaluate development and pre-production samples against original product specifications, approving manufacturing, performance, and fit requirements as the benchmark for bulk production.,
Troubleshoot and rectify any technical/quality issues that may arise during the production process and thereafter, ensuring innovative solutions/action take place to maintain product quality.
Ensure consistent product sizing by working closely with the Product team to maintain sizing alignment across the entire product range
· Communicate and build strong relationships with factories and suppliers to ensure accurate specifications, consistent fit, and on-time sample delivery.
Build strong cross-functional relationships across Buying, Retail, Customer Services, and Warehouse teams to resolve customer returns and quality issues.
Maintain an accurate critical path from proto sample through to bulk production, in collaboration with the Product Development, Buying and Merchandiser teams.
Ensure suppliers and their manufacturing sites comply with Company ethical standards.
Act as a technical centre of excellence, staying up to date with technical developments and communicating these effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
Technically audit and approve proposed manufacturing units against company requirements, recommending corrective action plans where necessary to ensure production suitability.
Provide returns estimating, and manage in season returns utilising reports and systems provided.
Skills and Experience

Proven experience working within a clothing/fashion environment role
Thorough knowledge of production and quality management processes within a clothing manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of critical path and fit process management
Experience of PLM software an advantage
Organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work at a fast pace
Commercially mind ability to use data to drive informed decisions
Ability to think both in a commercial and data led mind set with full understanding of the Peacocks customer.
Confidence in decision making and problem solving.
