You will be responsible for:

Partner with UX to run continuous discovery loops with real customers—design, test, learn, repeat.
Rapidly prove or disprove our next inflection points—frame hypotheses, ship scrappy experiments, decide with evidence.
Own the backlog end-to-end—prioritise ruthlessly, write crisp stories, and unblock delivery.
Build and communicate a living roadmap that aligns squads, leadership, and Tesco’s business strategy.
Define, instrument, and drive our North Star metrics—create a clear path from experiments to measurable outcomes.
Balance now vs next—deliver value today while de‑risking and realising the long‑term vision, always customer‑first.
Partner with internal and partner engineers to deliver at venture speed—balance quality vs speed; design for scalability, robustness, and secure, production‑ready releases
Craft, evolve, and evangelise a living, customer‑anchored product vision and strategy—tell a compelling story that excites stakeholders, aligns teams, and ladders into Tesco’s growth strategy.

You will need:

Relevant Experience

-Retail/e-commerce
-Experience working in a start-up / scale-up
End‑to‑end product leadership: apply UX/UI principles to ship intuitive experiences; turn customer research into strategy and outcomes; lead Agile delivery of small, high‑impact increments, grounded in customer empathy and high EQ.
Evidence‑led growth at venture speed: run experimentation programs at scale (A/B, MVT) with Optimisation teams; translate insights into OKRs and prioritisation.
Data, ML & platform fluency: leverage ML concepts to build impactful features; partner on large‑scale data platforms to improve availability, performance, and security; define and instrument metrics that matter.
Technical & operational excellence: understand how large systems interact; monitor uptime, SLOs, and latency; collaborate with engineering to balance speed with quality, scalability, and robustness.
Commercial acumen & influence: know the commercial drivers and P&L levers; advise on market research techniques and future trends; influence senior stakeholders to land product, business, and tech OKRs.

Operational Skills

Customer discovery & UX: plan and run UX/UI and market research, build deep customer empathy, and translate insight into clear problems, jobs, and value props.
Hypothesis‑driven product craft: design experiments, validate at speed, apply lean/agile methodologies, prioritise ruthlessly, and build/communicate a living long‑term roadmap.
Data, ML & analytics fluency: instrument North Star metrics, analyse funnels/cohorts, partner on data engineering, and apply practical ML to drive outcomes.
Technology delivery in enterprise retail: navigate Tesco/partner stacks, apply best practice enterprise architecture, balance quality vs speed, design for scalability, robustness, and security.
Strategy & commercial acumen: create product vision and strategy that ladders into Tesco’s growth goals; apply strategic thinking, problem solving, finance and procurement know‑how to unlock delivery.
Influence, change & learning: crisp communication and storytelling, stakeholder alignment and influencing, relentless curiosity, and enabling change across teams.

Annual bonus scheme of up to 45% of base salary
Car Cash Allowance
Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus Bank holidays)

Retirement savings plan - save between 6% - 10% and Tesco will contribute 1.5 times this amount
26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 years’ service) at full pay, followed by 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Adoption Pay, we also offer 6 weeks fully paid paternity leave
