Senior Knitwear Designer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Knitwear Designer to lead the development of trend-driven, commercially successful womenswear knitwear collections for key high street customers. This role combines creative vision with strong technical expertise and close collaboration with UK and South Asia based teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead seasonal knitwear range development from concept to approval.

Translate trends, yarn innovation, and competitor research into commercial designs.

Collaborate with overseas manufacturers to ensure quality, cost, and feasibility.

Oversee technical packs, garment specs, and fittings.

Present collections to buyers and senior management.

Mentor junior designers and build strong supplier relationships.

Requirements:

7+ years’ knitwear design experience (supplier or retail preferred).

Strong commercial womenswear knitwear portfolio.

Excellent technical knowledge of yarns, stitches, gauges, and construction.

Experience working with overseas factories.

Confident communicator with leadership experience.
