Import Merchandiser

Our client is a very successful and well established supplier based in Leicester with a reputation for delivering excellent service to their clients.
They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Import Merchandiser to join their team working on fashion apparel products and accessories.

The Role:
• Taking the product from the initial concept through the development process to the bulk shipment stage including AQL and all quality points to ensure that the end product is fit for purpose.
• Working closely with the design team you will source fabrics to develop the style concept as required, considering costs/margins.
• Chase all prices at each stage of the process.
• Maintain and manage the critical path process, ensuring all details are kept up to date
• Liaise directly with suppliers and factories
• Build strong relationships and communication within other business departments.
• Ensure all fabrics, components and trims are compliant to the correct quality standards
• Approve lab dips and bulk fabrics
• Liaise with all supply bases for on time deliveries.
• Ensure that all quality points of the product are achieved to ensure that the product is fit for purpose

The ideal candidate will have a background in a similar role. You will be a real team player whilst also being able to work individually using your own initiative.
You must also have experience dealing with offshore suppliers, manufacturers and solid experience of managing a critical path.
