We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for a Head of Social and Digital - Corporate Channels to lead a highly skilled team delivering exceptional content across all Group Communications channels — internal, social, digital and PR.

This role will set the strategy and direction for Tesco’s corporate social and digital presence across LinkedIn, Instagram and Web, ensuring our channels are at the forefront of the industry, engaging stakeholders and elevating the reputation of our business.

You will be responsible for:

• Setting and implementing Tesco’s Corporate Social & Digital strategy across all relevant channels.

• Shaping the look and feel and execution of content to ensure it is of the highest standard to lead the way for corporate content across Planet, Health, Community and Innovation.

• Embedding and leading a team of in-house content creation specialists who can deliver high quality video and imagery end to end – from concept and messaging, to storyboarding and producing to editing and refining.

• Guide the team with knowledge and expertise in latest and emerging production techniques.

• Developing and leading Tesco’s strategy for corporate Instagram channel to deliver accelerated growth of the channel, embed leading edge technology to ensure targeting, personalisation and impact.

• Ensuring Tesco’s corporate website is up to date, accurate, engaging and digitally secure.

• Setting strategy and ambition for Tesco’s LinkedIn channel alongside People Team to drive fame and positive sentiment for Tesco as an employer and for the work the business does with a particular focus on Group Comms campaign priorities.

• Recruiting, developing and leading a high-performing team, giving them opportunities to be their best.

• Overseeing the monitoring and analysis of output and continuously evaluating performance and process to ensure that the team is as effective and efficient as possible.

• Managing external agencies to deliver the best work and ensuring contracts are delivering value and excellence against the department’s objectives.

• Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.

You will need:

Operational Skills

• Content production skills

• Well formed digital and social capabilities.

• Project management and budget control.

• Agency and stakeholder management and engagement skills.

Relevant Experience

• Highly experienced professional with experience in social and digital strategy for consumer facing/high profile organisations.

• Has led content production projects from inception to delivery phase across a wide range of subject matter.

• Strategic thinker with excellent project and stakeholder management skills with a focus on consistency and quality in communications.

• Adept at managing in house teams and agency partners to create meaningful and content across a spectrum of channels including social, digital, internal and media.

• Accomplished people manager who loves developing and leading a high performing team.

Annual bonus scheme of up to 45% of base salary
