Head of Product and Production

London

Employer: Luxury

Salary: Up to £60,000

Reference: kmHOP&P/8

Date added: 2 hours ago

We’re partnering with a highly regarded London-based womenswear luxury designer brand to appoint a Head of Product & Production — a senior, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the Founder & Creative Director.
This opportunity will particularly suit someone who thrives in a startup or small-team environment, where ownership is broad, decision-making is fast, and leaders remain closely involved in the detail. You’ll play a central role in shaping how product is developed, produced, and delivered, working alongside the Founder to support the next phase of growth.
The role carries full responsibility for the end-to-end product and production lifecycle across all categories, with a strong emphasis on luxury knitwear. From early development through to bulk production, you’ll be deeply involved in the process — balancing creative vision with commercial discipline to ensure product is delivered on time, to exceptional quality standards, and within budget.
Operating within a lean structure, this is not a purely strategic position. You’ll be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to manage critical paths, oversee detailed costings and margin analysis, negotiate MOQs, and maintain close relationships with global suppliers and production partners. Strong Excel skills are essential, as you’ll be hands-on with costing sheets, margin models, production trackers, and delivery schedules to support accurate, informed decision-making.
You’ll ensure production timelines align across wholesale, retail, and e-commerce, anticipating challenges early and responding with practical, solutions-led thinking. Leadership in this context means leading by example — working closely with a small product and production team, providing structure and clarity while remaining actively involved in day-to-day delivery.
We’re keen to speak with candidates who bring senior experience within premium or luxury fashion, ideally from a smaller, founder-led or startup brand where breadth of role and hands-on delivery were key. Strong product development and production expertise is critical, knitwear knowledge is highly desirable, and commercial confidence is essential. You’ll be highly organised, detail-focused, calm under pressure, and comfortable operating without layers of process.
