Our Facilities Management Department is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Consultant to oversee the Facilities Management functions and strategic projects for Lidl GB. As the Senior Consultant you’ll be responsible for the development of our digitisation, connectivity, IoT and online controls strategy for all major building technologies such as air conditioning, BMS, lifts etc., leading new projects and concept trials in close liaison with stakeholders both in GB and internationally, across all Schwarz Group companies. It is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities Management team to maintain and service our growing store portfolio.

What you'll do


Serve as the primary IoT subject matter expert (SME), bridging the gap between FM, IT, Procurement, and Store Operations teams to ensure successful project deployment and adoption
Develop and pioneer new and innovative solutions, to widen the connectivity potential of devices within the equipment portfolio, including technology scouting
Operational and full lifecycle management of IoT devices and processes, including day to day connectivity, service and support and end of life strategy
Ensure all premises and devices comply with current legislation, IT and INFOSEC security standards and vulnerability management
Lead the development of user interfaces, dashboards, work packages and process flows for all connected devices
Analyse device data and creation of KPIs to inform business decision making
Full project management responsibility for the IoT concept including financial planning, risk management and key milestone deliverables
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, across Head Office departments and the wider Schwarz Group
Selection and appointment of external suppliers, including participating in the negotiation / tendering of contracts
Supporting our regions and regional Facilities Managers across the UK through training and upskilling
Developing and presenting concepts up to Board level

What you'll need


Relevant practical IT/Building Services experience in working with connected technologies from a fast-paced environment is beneficial
Understanding of IoT connectivity standards (e.g., LoRaWAN, GSM/LTE, Wi-Fi) and building automation protocols (BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU)
Knowledge of IT networking, IT development and cyber security and building management systems
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise business language for non-technical stakeholders
Excellent organisational and project management skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience of presenting to senior management
Proactive, motivated and driven
Strong computer skills including low code solutions and automation
Full valid driving license
Willingness to travel within GB and internationally with the occasional overnight stay
Genuine enthusiasm and proven capacity for acquiring proficiency in new technical topics and emerging technologies
