F and F Online Assistant Merchandise Planner

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Online Assistant Merchandiser to support the execution and optimisation of our online product range. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate reporting, stock visibility, and effective coordination between commercial, marketing, online and technology teams. You will help drive commercial performance by maintaining key trackers, supporting product planning, and contributing to strategic insights.
You will be responsible for:
Reporting & Data Management
Provide merchandising support to ensure the online department runs efficiently, including preparing trade analysis and collaborating with commercial, operations, and planning teams.
Lead the creation and distribution of daily and weekly trading reports, providing actionable insights and trend analysis to inform weekly trading decisions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic analysis that supports risk mitigation and commercial planning, including stock cover evaluation, markdown optimisation, and the identification of trading opportunities that enhance profitability and drive agile decision-making.
Develop and refine bespoke reporting solutions tailored to evolving business needs, ensuring stakeholders have access to relevant, data-driven intelligence.
Range & Stock Management
Partner with the supply chain team to strategically shape the online product assortment through data-led ranging and de-ranging decisions.
Identify and escalate supply chain or replenishment issues, supporting the team in achieving stock and availability targets.
Lead the planning of product photoshoots, ensuring product selections align with key launch timings and stock availability.
Collaborate with the buying team to lead enrichment planning, ensuring all product data is complete, accurate, and optimised to support timely and successful online launches.
Support in preparing for range sign-off and strategy meetings by analysing historical performance, trends, and conducting pareto and best/worst analysis.
Market & Strategic Insight
Regularly review and interpret market insights, competitor activity, and consumer trends to inform online trading strategy, support decision-making, and identify new opportunities for growth.
Use performance analytics, customer behaviour insights, and commercial KPIs to ensure the range aligns with business objectives and evolving market trends.
Translate insights into clear recommendations that influence range planning, promotional strategy, and customer engagement initiatives.
Continuous improvement and Strategic initiatives
Drive cross-functional collaboration with project teams to develop, pilot, and implement new initiatives that enhance the online experience, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term business goals.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, proposing innovative solutions, and refining processes to optimise ways of working.
You will need:
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel.
Experience in e-commerce, merchandising, or trading support roles.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Awareness of current retail and e-commerce trends.
