Buying Manager - Wine
Shire Park, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire
A fantastic opportunity to join the Wine Buying team looking after South Africa, North America and boxed wines!
The role will require working with both branded and own label suppliers to develop the range. A great opportunity to work as part of an NWT when developing quality and range for customers.
This role sources, buys & sells great quality products, giving our customers the best offer, range and prices available.
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring my buying area has a long term customer led plan, which drives customer loyalty.
Using insight tools to analyse and understand performance issues and opportunities.
Supporting my departments range strategy to implement a customer focused range which delivers financial KPIs.
Sourcing innovative product to deliver insight led ranges across channels, regions & affluence levels to support the category strategy.
Building & manage supplier relationships through a supplier strategy to develop a market leading buy, move and sell plan aligned to the customer plan and category strategy.
Identifying and assessing new suppliers to deliver market leading product innovation.
Supporting my department’s sell plan to deliver trade, promotions, events exceeding KPI forecasts and drive footfall.
Delivering my team’s sales and quantum profit budget, market share and out-performance targets.
Negotiate with supplier partners to deliver market leading product costs and investment in-line with Tesco Buying model.
Adhering to all Tesco policies, storage and handover protocols and successfully completing all my training so that I have zero GSCOP breaches.
Ensuring all agreements are recorded in writing, reporting GSCOP complaints to Legal within 48 hours of receipt, and leading a culture of compliance within my team.
You will need:
Commercial buying experience.
Range and trade planning experience.
Previous experience leading and developing teams.
Experience report preparation and analysis.
Previous stakeholder and supplier management experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of supplier economics.
