We are looking for a confident and motivated Buying Coordinator to join our Regional Buying Scotland Coordination Team. This is an ideal role for a positive, pro-active and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and will relish working under pressure.
You will play a fundamental part within our Buying Coordination teams, supporting buyers in high turnover categories and liaising with suppliers on a regular basis. You will also be responsible for projects impacting the buying department and will make crucial decisions for the business’ commercial strategy.
This role is fundamental in ensuring that Lidl remains competitive and continues its successful growth across Europe.

What you'll do
Supporting Buyers in the preparation of negotiations and contracts with national suppliers
Liaising regularly with Buyers, Suppliers and other stakeholders
Ensuring complete and accurate data is passed on to the relevant teams and departments
Training new starters and other colleagues across the business
Supporting Buyers with category specific tasks
Preparation and distribution of reports
Assisting Buyers with negotiation preparation, product sampling and category reviews
Working on projects to support the Buying Directors that are presented at board level
Price strategy comparisons with competitors
Representing buyers within high turnover categories and making impactful decisions for the business
Assisting with training and departmental projects
What you'll need
Self-motivated, able to work well in a team and independently within a high-pressured environment
Experience working in a Buying function is desirable, but not essential
Well-organised with the ability to multitask and work to targets and strict deadlines
Excellent time management skills
A confident approach with excellent communication skills
Comfortable with implementing change within the team
The ability and confidence to communicate effectively with colleagues across all levels of the business
Excellent attention to detail
Pro-active, approaching problems logically and calmly
Intermediate Excel skills are essential
Positive can-do attitude with the willingness to learn
German Language is preferred but not essential
