Here at the Edinburgh Woollen Mill we have a fantastic opportunity for an Analyst Developer to join our IT Department. If you’re looking for your first programming role this will be perfect for you.

The job role will mainly be based in SQL but it is not a problem if you haven’t used it before. If you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach you how to use it.

The day to day of the role will be to analyse, develop and implement solutions to current code standards based on the needs of the business. You’ll also provide support to IT and other departments through an internal issue tracking system. This can be a varied role with many opportunities to learn new technologies in a supportive and friendly environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Analyse, develop and implement solutions that support the current and expectedrequirements of the business.

2. Maintain and develop existing code and processes.

3. Fully test code before deployment.

4. Communicate when required with the user base to understand their development requirements and priorities.

5. Create and update reports to suit the needs of the business.

6. Provide support to existing and developed systems where required.

Technologies you’ll be using:

1. SQL Server

2. SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)

3. SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

4. C#

Our ideal candidate will:

1. Have the ability to program in a major programming language (C#, C++. Java)

2. Have the ability to learn new programming languages either through tutelage or self-learning.

3. Demonstrate good problem solving and communication skills.

4. Work independently and in a team on tasks and update the business on progress.

5. Effectively manage your time and prioritise tasks.

6. Be a team player that can highlight issues and their potential impacts to the business along with the ability to document any created processes.
