Spanish clothing retailer Zara has launched online sales in 106 more countries, most of which are in Africa.

Online sales currently only account for 10% of Inditex’s net sales.

Shares were up by 5.2% after the announcement, which was the second biggest daily growth on Spain’s stock index.

Countries that don't have a Zara store will have access to a dedicated platform, which will allow them to purchase Zara products online.  All of these orders will be processed in Spain.

“From tomorrow, Zara’s global women’s, men’s and kids’ collections will be available in a total of 202 markets, underpinned by the integrated store and online platform,” the company said in a statement.
