Corporate giants Walmart and Google have announced that they will be entering a partnership to begin providing a voice-enabled service in a market currently dominated by Amazon. Amazon’s AI virtual assistant Alexa already is compatible for voice-enabled shopping, so the move from Walmart and Google is set to challenge this market dominance. Head of e-commerce at Walmart, Marc Lore suggested that the retailer “plans to expand the use of voice-activated shopping across its 4,700 stores to "create customer experiences that don't currently exist within voice shopping anywhere else.”
