Waitrose has announced that it has launched a specialist 132-page gardening magazine called Waitrose Garden targeted at the discerning gardener and will be available free of charge to all myWaitrose members.

The magazine features items such as five varied gardens with each one being accompanied by a shopping spread so customers can copy the look.

As well as the new gardening magazine, Waitrose also produces a free newspaper called Waitrose Weekend that has a circulation of almost 400,000, Waitrose Food its monthly food magazine and Waitrose TV, its online TV portal.

Waitrose marketing director, Rupert Thomas, said: 'We know that gardening is the second most popular pastime for our customers after cooking, so this represents a real opportunity for our brand.” Adding “Waitrose Garden is full of varied and captivating content, so whether the reader is new to gardening or a long-term enthusiast, we hope that it is a magazine they will enjoy.”
