Travis Perkins has reported a 9.7% growth in like-or-like sales at Wickes in the first half of 2019.
It has put at least 2% of the growth down to warmer weather in March and April compared to last year.
The retailer has also seen a 49% increase in adjusted operating profits, growing to £52 million.
During the period, Wickes benefited from the addition of new ranges in the decorating and landscape categories. It also made several key improvements in its supply chain to increase availability in-store.
John Carter, Travis Perkins chief executive, said: “Wickes has delivered a strong turnaround in volume and profit performance, with gains in both core DIY and through the kitchen and bathroom showroom.”
