Tiso is due to open a new outdoor experience next year named 'Tiso Aviemore Outdoor Experience' which will be situated within the new £10million Myrtefield Retail Park off the towns Grampian Road. This latest evolution of Tiso’s established Outdoor Experience concept will span a ground and mezzanine floor with around 12,000 square feet of retail space.
The store will incorporate the best utilities of Tiso, Alpine Bikes and Blues the Ski Shop, together with a café and soft play area for the little ones.
Walkers, mountaineers, skiers, bikers and water sport enthusiasts will all be catered for. The store will have experienced and qualified technicians providing full ski and bike servicing, in addition to bike and boot fitting.
Chris Tiso, chief executive of Tiso Group explained: “I am immensely proud to confirm the opening of our exciting new Tiso Aviemore Outdoor Experience store. Aviemore is Scotland’s adventure capital and is renowned as a destination for people of all ages to access and enjoy the variety offered by the local mountains, forests, lochs and rivers. The area already attracts in excess of one million visitors annually and with its diverse attractions and the ongoing dualling of the A9, we can expect more people coming to explore an area renowned for climbing, winter-sports, cycling and watersports.“
Tiso was founded by Mr Graham Tiso and his wife Maude in Edinburgh in 1962. The group now employs more than 300 people across Scotland and the Lake District where it owns the George Fisher outdoor store in Keswick. JD Sports Fashion invested in Tiso in 2013 although Chris Tiso remains a significant shareholder.
