It has been announced that Typo, the Australian stationery retailer will be opening its first UK store in London this December, with a view to expanding in the capital with a further three stores in the pipeline.
Typo will be occupying a 2,000 sq ft space at Westfield Stratford City, which will sell not only stationery but cushions, gift cards, lighting, accessories, crafts and gadgets.
The move to open in the UK follows on the back of an expansion plan by Typo’s opponents Smiggle, who launched its first UK store in 2014, which now expects to have over 90 stores trading by the Christmas period.
Owned by Cotton On, the stationery retailer currently operates around 1,200 shops in 12 countries, such as France, Singapore, Greece, Germany, South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia and the US.
