Supermarket chain, Tesco have announced plans to merge with the Booker Group, who own brands such as Budgens and Londis. The move, set to be worth approximately £3.7bn, aims to see the company become the UK’s leading food business, combining their knowledge of retail, wholesale, supply chain and digital. The merger also introduces a plethora of opportunities with regards to developing own brand and fresh ranges of produce, with Tesco stating that the move represents significant value to shareholders.
