The head of Tesco’s One Stop chain has announced that he will be stepping down from the company.

Tony Reed leaves the business after 38 years, having started out stacking shelves at Tesco in 1978.

“Tony has made a huge and varied contribution to our business throughout his 38-year career at Tesco and we wish him every success for the future,” a Tesco spokesperson said, adding that plans were being made to find a successor.
