Some UK Supermarkets have been affected by bad weather conditions with regards to their stocks of vegetables, with some even having to limit items such as iceberg lettuce to three per customer. It comes after severe weather in Spain decimated crops and created a shortage, with some Supermarkets now looking to the US to draft in produce. A representative from Morrisons stated that, “As a result of the fact that the Spanish harvest has been very difficult this year, we have just about enough coming in to supply our customers”. If the bad weather continues, there may be a knock-on in terms of price to the consumer, with some already complaining of increased prices.
