Julian Dunkerton, the co-founder of fashion retailer, Superdry, is talking to shareholders about a possible return to the board after leaving in 2014.
He still remains the company’s largest shareholder, holding an 18.5% stake in the business.
Superdry’s shares have fallen from close to £20 each to £7.29 each.
Dunkerton founded Superdry 15 years ago alongside James Holder, who despite leaving two years ago, owns a 9.7% stake in the company.
He said that Holder is backing his planned return as the co-founders have said that they can no longer stand back and watch from a far as shares continue to plummet.
Aberdeen Standard Investments, who own the second largest stake in the company at 10.6%, has criticised Mr Dunkerton for going public with his campaign before making contact with the board.
The rest of the major shareholders, including Old Mutual, Artemis and Blackrock, which hold stakes of 7%, 5% and 4.7% respectively, are yet to reveal their opinions on the campaign.
