Administrators for HMV have confirmed that Sunrise Records & Entertainment has completed the purchase of the entertainment retailer, beating competition from Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley.
Sunrise will acquire 100 HMV stores, as well as all 1,487 head office staff.
The stores will continue to trade as HMV following the acquisition, and four stores will continue to trade under the Fopp fascia.
Sunrise acquired HMV’s Canadian business in 2017.
