It has revealed that the UK’s biggest supermarket Tesco is selling Euphorium bakeries to coffee shop firm Soho Coffee.

Dave Lewis, chief executive said that it was selling its bakery subsidiary as part of its plans to change the financial fortunes of Tesco and is trying to cut down its outgoings as it has already sold its Giraffe restaurants along with Harris and Hoole Coffee shops and Dobbies Garden Centres.

Commenting, a Tesco spokesperson said: "We know how important a great bakery offer is to our customers, and this agreement will mean we can continue to serve shoppers with great quality Tesco bakery products."
The 57 in-store bakeries will still be run by Tesco and staff will reportedly be given the opportunity to transfer to the supermarket.
