It has been reported that 1000 BHS staff will be offered jobs at Arcadia by Sir Philip Green. Some staff already affected are now employed at Arcadia concessions including Wallis and Dorothy Perkins within BHS stores.
Sir Philip has also asked his lieutenants for help to try and find the remaining 10,000 BHS staff new jobs.
The announcement comes just a day after the MPs involved in the inquiry sent a letter to Lady Tina Green, Sir Philip’s wife asking her to provide details on companies that are registered in her name overseas, a list of shareholders and an explanation of Sir Philip’s involvement in their operation.
Lady Green has supposedly made tens of millions of pounds in profits when BHS was sold, as well as her husband being criticised for taking around £400 million in dividends out of BHS during the 15 years he owned it.
Sir Philip has apologised to employees and said that he would “sort” the firm’s pension scheme which has a £571 million black hole.
