Online retailer, Shop Direct, reported an increase of 9% in year-on-year sales in the 7 week run up to Christmas.  The company, which owns both Very.co.uk and Littlewoods.com, has seen its fifth year of consecutive growth following a record-breaking Christmas. Sales made from mobile devices made up 68% of all online sales, with the Very.co.uk brand seeing the largest growth of 19% in year-on-year sales. Alex Baldock, the chief executive at Shop Direct attributed some of this growth to the fact that “most of the growth in retail is coming from online, and the growth in online is coming from mobile”.
