It has been reported that online retailers Argos and Amazon will go head-to-head with each other to deliver goods to customers with its same-day delivery service.
Launching its Prime Same Day service, Amazon are offering customers who already have the Prime service to purchase items before midday & receive their goods between 6pm-10pm and will be available seven days a week. The service will firstly be offered to customers in London, Berkshire and Hertfordshire, however other areas of the UK will be included soon.
Amazon will still deliver items to customers who do not have Amazon Prime, however they will have to pay £9.99 per order.
The launch comes as Argos is due to launch its own free same-day delivery service and has already started same-day delivery online. Like Amazon, no additional charge will be added on orders over £50 and this will end on 24th November. After this date the normal £3.95 charge will apply.
Stephen Vowles, Argos marketing director said: “We are the only retailer able to offer same-day delivery nationwide and we’re even happier to provide this service for free to customers until 24 November.”
