Sainsbury’s has hired 30 “trend spotters” in an attempt to lift growth in its clothing range.
According to This Is Money, Sainsbury’s has appointed a new team tasked with travelling to top fashion destinations like New York and Japan, spotting trends and bringing them back to inspire its UK design teams.
This is the latest move by the retailer to strengthen its clothing line, after the launch of its premium range Tu last year. The clothing arm is pushing the £1 billion revenue mark and has been one of the best performing sectors in recent months. It is now the sixth biggest clothing retailer in the UK.
