Budget airline Ryanair’s passenger numbers shot up by 28% in March, the fourth consecutive month of growth topping 25%. The company’s average plane load was 94% full, up from 90% the previous year and 80% in 2014.

Although the figures may have been flattered by the timing of Easter, with more trips being taken in the school holidays but they continue a general upward trend. Ryanair's Kenny Jacobs commented: "Ryanair's March traffic grew by 28% to 8.5m customers, while our load factor jumped 4% points to 94%. These record monthly numbers were delivered (despite 3 days of unjustified French ATC strikes in March which caused the cancellation of over 500 flights) due to our lower fares, stronger forward bookings and the continuing success of our "AGB" (Always Getting Better) programme.”
