Elisabeth Murdoch, daughter of media mogul Rupert Murdoch has joined the board as a non-executive director at Jimmy Choo the luxury shoe brand.

Having been in senior positions previously in media and technology companies, Ms Murdoch was the founder and chairman of a company called Freelands Group, a media and technology investment fund and also Freelands Foundation, supporting cultural institutions and artists.

Jimmy Choo, who provide products such as women’s shoes and handbags appeared on the stock market in October 2014, however broker Liberum Capital dropped the rating and cut its 2015 profit forecast 19% suggesting a slowdown in the luxury market.

As well as Freelands Foundation, Ms Murdoch ran the programming and marketing division of BSKYB, as well as holding the position of managing director of her father’s Sky networks, before setting up her own company Shine, which produces programmes such as Master Chef.
