River Island hires new buying chief

Fashion retailer River Island has hired Nicholas Tahir as head of buying, as he leaves his role at Tesco’s F&F.

Mr Tahir has held senior buying positions previously at Burton, TK Maxx, Primark and recently head of global menswear at F&F.

Nicholas Tahir said: “I’m very much looking forward to implementing the new global strategy and harnessing the true potential of River Island’s menswear, cementing our position as designer of the high street.”
