Grocery etailer Ocado has revealed its half-year results which show a 5.7% increase in the six months to 15th May.

Figures show that Ocado made earnings before tax, depreciation, interest and amortisation (EBITDA) of £40.4 million in that timeframe, whereas figures for the same period last year were reported at £38.2 million in EBITDA.

The etailer’s shares dropped to a three-year low this month after Amazon joining the online grocer market with AmazonFresh.

Tim Steiner, chief executive, said: “We are pleased with the steady progress in our business, maintaining double-digit sales growth in a retail environment that remains challenging.”
“Notwithstanding the tough nature of the marketplace, we expect to continue growing ahead of the online grocery market.”

The etailer was expected to announce a new international partner in its last full year report, but it is understood that this was in negotiation stages.
