Discount retailer Poundland has posted an above expected revenue of £798m to the South-African based Steinhoff group. The group, which acquired the retailer last September, saw an overall rise in operating profits in the six months to March 31st, with revenue also rising by 48% up to £8.8bn. Steinhoff announced that the UK operation had gained significant scale and good progress had been made on the Poundland acquisition plan.
