Pets at Home have revealed that its full year revenue grew 8.8% in the 53 weeks to 31st March, which was enhanced by “excellent” performance from the grooming salons and veterinary practices.

Figures show that revenue increased to nearly £800 million from £729.1 million the year before and like-for-like sales grew 2.1% and merchandise sales increasing 1.4%.

Ian Kellet, CEO, said he was "pleased with the continued positive sales momentum".

"Our highly trained colleagues are fundamental to achieving these results and I would like to extend my thanks for their dedication and support throughout the year."

During its success year, the pet retailer opened 20 new stores, one Whiskers ‘n’ Paws trial format store and six Barkers stores, as well as 50 veterinary practices and 60 grooming salons.
