According to the latest Barclays Corporate Banking Online Retail Report, online shoppers abandon as much as £3.4bn worth of goods in their virtual shopping baskets. Much of this wastage was attributed to device switching, with consumers often browsing on mobile devices prior to switching to laptops to make purchases. Head of Retail at Barclays, Ian Gilmartin said that the “research underlines the longer term benefit of providing easy to use options across all online platforms.”
