Ocado has agreed terms with US supermarket retailer, Kroger, which will see them provide technology for grocery deliveries in the US.
Kroger is expected to place an order for 20 customer fulfilment centres during the first three years of the agreement, three of which will be ordered before the end of the year.
They plan to make the fulfilment centres live within two years of ordering.
Kroger is set to announce the first three locations for the centres within the coming weeks.
Kroger are one of the world’s biggest supermarkets, with a total of $122 billion in sales for the 2017 financial year.
Luke Jensen, chief executive of Ocado Solutions, said: "The Kroger and Ocado teams have been working hard for some time to prepare for the opening of the first CFCs in the United States. We are very excited at the prospect of helping Kroger bring new services and value to its customers and transform the food retail market in the US."
