Luxury group Kering has announced Emmanuel Gintzburger, formerly retail and wholesale director at Yves Saint Laurent, as chief executive of Alexander McQueen.
In his new role, Mr Gintzburger will be responsible for pursuing the brand’s global expansion and accelerate growth. He will report to Grita Loebsack, Kering’s chief executive of luxury.
Mr Gintzburger will succeed Jonathan Akeroyd, who led the company for 12 years and who has been responsible for the brand’s development into an international powerhouse and steered it through the suicide of its founder Lee McQueen in 2010.
Kering is grateful to Jonathan Akeroyd for his contribution during the 12 years he served as CEO of Alexander McQueen," the company said in a statement today.
"In close collaboration with the creative and leadership team, he successfully oversaw the growth and the international expansion of the brand, making it one of the most recognised British luxury fashion brand in the world.”
