Work has begun in Bristol on a unique new shopping concept made from shipping containers. Cargo 1 and Cargo 2, two adjacent retail concepts, have now received planning permission and the first of 46 shipping containers which will create the structure arrived this week.

Located in the Wapping Wharf precinct of the city, already known as a key foodie area, Cargo will house a variety of independent retailers with the first due to open in September. "It is hugely exciting to be involved in bringing a new retail concept to Bristol with the arrival of Cargo,” said Stuart Hatton, the director of Umberslade, the developer of Cargo.

“This is a first for the city and will bring something unique to its vibrant independent retail scene.
“We are thrilled that Wapping Wharf has attracted such an eclectic mix of food and drink venues, ranging from pop-ups to cuisine from some of Britain's top chefs."
