Supermarket chain Morrisons held their first selection event ahead of a move towards using more British suppliers in the coming months. This after they had released a study showing that within the British food industry, more than £39bn worth of food is imported when compared to only £18bn that is exported. Food quality expert at Morrisons, Richard Jones, said that “It’s been a promising start to our nationwide search. We’ve been impressed by the quality and innovation of the food-makers who have applied.”
