It has been announced that McColl’s, the newsagent and convenience store, has appointed Jonathan Miller chief financial officer to chief executive.
This comes as co-founder James Lancaster steps down and becomes non-executive chairman until April 2017.
Mr Miller who joined the company in 1991, has held the position of chief financial officer since 2004. Commenting, Mr Miller said: "It is a great privilege to be appointed as chief executive of McColl's. I am looking forward to working with the many talented people across the company as we continue to grow our convenience presence in neighbourhoods across the UK. My focus will be to put our customers at the heart of everything we do and to fully align our organisation to deliver this."
Other promotions in the company include Simon Fuller, deputy chief financial officer, who will now become chief financial officer and Angus Porter, currently chief executive of the Professional Cricketers Association, has been appointed as a non-executive director.
Mr Lancaster commented: "After many years building the company, I am very pleased to be taking on the mantle of non-executive chairman. Building from Jonathan's appointment as CEO, we will continue to have a strong management team to take the business forward. I look forward to leading the board and our new CEO leading the company."
