Department store Marks & Spencer are launching a new customer membership scheme on October 22nd called Sparks.
The scheme offers customers the chance to collect points in three ways, ranging across its home, beauty, fashion and food departments. Ten sparks will be rewarded with every purchase, 10 for every £1 spent, 25 for a product review and 50 for taking part in the company’s ‘Shwopping’ scheme.
Executive director at Marks & Spencer, Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, said: “Customers tell us they want to ‘be part of something special’ and that’s exactly why Sparks is a club. As a member you are more than a customer and you’ll get the most from Marks & Spencer – with tailor-made offers, priority access and invites to exclusive events. It’s a two way relationship; members tell us what they enjoy, select their own tailored offers and are rewarded for sharing their views.”
Other benefits of the sparks scheme are a 10% discount on joining, first preview of new season items when you reach 3,000 sparks, special invitation only events and masterclasses when you reach 14,000 and when you reach 17,000 customers can win prizes such as Christmas Day on Marks & Spencer or a trip to a South African vineyard.
Mr Bousquet-Chavanne added: “Over 131 years, customers have built a unique sense of trust and ownership in the brand and a members club is the natural evolution. And now is the right time for Marks & Spencer; thanks to our infrastructure investment and the breadth and depth of our product offer, we can deliver a club that sees us collaborate with our members to build a better Marks & Spencer together.“
Customers can purchase a Sparks card in store, whilst invitations to sign up will be sent to Marks & Spencer.com customers, shareholders and Marks & Spencer Bank customers.
Also, if you sign up between 22 October and 4 November all members will be entered into a free prize draw.
