Majestic Wine is set to order over one million bottles of wine from Europe as a contingency plan for a no deal Brexit.

Majestic Wine is the UK’s largest specialist wines retailer.  They recently announced plans to release their half-year results.  They showed that trading was tough.

The Brexit preparations will see the company bring in additional wine bottles to the value of £8 million.

Majestic’s Chief Executive Rowan Gromley, told Sky, "I think if there is likely to be any kind of issue it will be disruption in ports and we had a sort of semi-serious conversation about laying a wine pipeline under the sea, but in the end we thought we'd just get a bit more stock in and play safe."

Other companies that have announced that they will be stockpiling include Premier Foods and Cadbury.
