It has been reported that the former boss of BHS, Darren Topp is set to join luxury fashion retailer LK Bennett as its new chief executive.

If reports are accurate, he will be replacing Robert Bensoussan, who became interim chief executive in 2014 and who will remain at the company as a non-executive director.

Having previously been BHS’ chief operating officer, Mr Topp was promoted to interim chief executive when Dominic Chappell bought the company for £1 last March.

However when BHS buckled, the two turned against each other, after Mr Topp questioned Mr Chappell ‘s £1.5 million transfer of BHS money to Sweden.

With the final BHS shop closed in August, there are now plans to make the company online-only.
