Department store John Lewis has announced that its sales increased 8.7% year-on-year last week as shoppers look ahead as the weather starts to turn warmer and Easter approaches.
Figures show that fashion sales grow 5.3% with menswear coming out on top as well as a rise in sales of warm weather clothing.
Other figures show that electricals and home technology sales increased 13.3% and home sales grow 8.5% with beds being the strong performer.
Director of online trade at John Lewis, Mark Felix, said: “With the Easter holidays now upon us, and customers preparing to mark the occasion, we are looking ahead to a busy week in both our shops and online.”
