Department store John Lewis has reported an increase of 4.4% in sales last week benefiting from the seasonal weather.
Stores that performed well include Ipswich with an increase of 13.8%, Swindon saw an increase of 9.4% and Leicester with an 8.8% rise. Other stores that performed well are Croydon and Chester, as well as online sales increasing 13.1%.
Other figures show that fashion sales rose 5.8% in menswear and womenswear and electricals and home technology sales rose 5.2%.
Director of selling, London and South at John Lewis, David Barford, said: “We had some great double percentage results from within the Menswear assortments with Men's Own Brand at 16.6% up, Men's Branded Casualwear at 14.8% up and Men's Formalwear at 10.3% up.”
