The department chain saw its total sales increase by 6.5% year-on-year last week to £87.3m, electrical and technology sales in particular had improved performances due to an Apple product launch. Fashion sales also rose driven by sales of cold weather clothing with menswear and women’s accessories categories also performing well. The company added that it had seen that “back to uni” items had continued to be sold and customers had begun to look ahead to Halloween and Christmas.
