John Lewis grew its sales by 0.3% year-on-year last week to £114.5 million.

Home technology and electrical sales climbed by 7.8% as shoppers took advantage of early Black Friday deals. Mobile sales were also strong as customers purchased the new iPhone X.

Home sales fell by 1.4% although sales of tree decorations were up 8% and the retailer enjoyed a second strong week of sales of 'Moz The Monster' products.

Fashion sales fell by 3.8% due to changes in annual competitor promotions which impacted sales of beauty products. However, clothing sales were up 3.6% as trade was helped by the colder weather.
