John Lewis has seen their sales decline by 2.1% on the same week last year.
Fashion sales were down 2.9% in the week although sales in the beauty, wellbeing and leisure category were up 3.9%. Sales of women’s accessories edged up 0.4% as the retailer price matched competitor promotions through its Never Knowingly Undersold policy.
Meanwhile, home sales fell by 7.3% overall despite cookshop sales being up 39% as customers bought products for outdoor dining.
